TF Import
June 09, 2023

Hi,

is there a step by step guide for dummies on how to import tags and articles with TF Import? I don't understand the documentation (please add an overview/introduction). I only need import a batch of tags and maybe later an article import.

Regards

Stefan

Hello

The first step depends from where you need to import the tags.

Accordingly, create a new Single from the dashboard.

In the destination, select Joomla tags.

You can send the Joomla credentials to mail@techfry.com

I can help in the setup.

Thank you very much for the offer and the advice. Unfortunately, I don't have any more time this week, but I will get back to you next week if I need help.

Hello

Unfortunately I have to admit that I am completely overwhelmed with TF Import. The documentation lacks an introduction, also demo content or a step by step guide for a first orientation is missing. So I do not understand the concept unfortunately. Therefore I like to come back to the help offer.

I have a CSV file with almost 2500 rows and 45 columns. It is a cleanly formatted export from the CCK Seblod, which we want to delete as part of the migration to Joomla 4 and replace with Joomla custom fields. So newly created custom fields are to be filled into existing Joomla content.

Is this possible at all? Can you perhaps create a demo import for me, with which I can continue to work? This is only a test, not all custom fields are created yet. I do not need the complete configuration, an import of the fields created so far is enough. The rest I can then configure myself, if everything works.

What do you need from me?

GreetingsStefan

Hello

Yes, this is possible and very easy with new CSV import tool. Please follow the following steps:

1. Update the component (the new version is just released) and library

2. Navigate to the Dashboard -> Import -> Select Joomla Articles

3. Upload CSV file and Click Import Button.

The First row of CSV file should contain two mandatory columns: title, catid. To include Joomla custom fields, the first row should contain the id of the custom field. To include Joomla tags, add the column "tags".

From the second row onwards, CSV file can contain data.

Let me know if it works. You can also send the Joomla credentials and sample CSV file to mail@techfry.com. I can help in setting up.
