How to Manage Facebook Ad Sets

Ad sets are groups of ads, and are used to configure the target audience and duration the ads should run for.

All ads contained within an ad set should have the same targeting, budget, billing, optimization goal, and duration.

Create Ad set

Name: Name of the ad set.

Status: The status (Active or Paused) of the ad set.

Conversion Location (Destination): Destination of ads in this Ad Set. The conversion location depends upon the campaign objective. The campaign with "Awareness" objective doesn't have any conversion goal. Depending on the conversion location that you select, you can then choose a conversion event.

Performance (Optimization) Goal: The optimization goal this ad set is using. The goal depends upon on the campaign objective. It is only available for campaign with "Awareness" objective. For campaigns with other objectives, performance goal is selected automatically.

Facebook Page ID: Enter the Id of the Facebook Page, that represents your business.

Start Time: The start time of the ad set.

End Time: The end time of the ad set.

Conversion Location

Conversion location (or destination) depends upon the objective of the ad campaign.

  1. Awareness: No conversation location
  2. Traffic: Website, App, Messenger, WhatsApp, Calls, Instagram profile
  3. Engagement: Ad, Messaging apps, Website, App, Facebook Page
  4. Leads: Website, Website and calls, Website and instant forms, Instant forms, Messenger, Instagram, Calls, Instant forms and Messenger, WhatsApp, App
  5. App promotion: App
  6. Sales: Website, Website and app, Website and in store, Website and calls, Messenger, WhatsApp

Audience Targeting

Define the target audience for your ad - who you want to see your ad and then build an audience based on those traits. To search options, click on the button "Search Targeting Options". Choose Type and enter Query to search. You need to enter comma separated keys.

Location: You can target your audience by countries, regions or cities. You need to enter at least one location. Use search targeting options to find the country and whether it supports regions and cities.

Minimum Age: Default is 18. If used, it must be 13 or higher.

Maximum Age: If used, it must be 65 or lower.

Genders: Genders to target - All, Males or Females.
