Joomla and Google Search Console Integration
Google Search Console allows webmasters to check indexing status, search queries, crawling errors and optimize visibility of websites on search engines. You can integrate search console with Joomla! and even automate tasks using TF Tools component.
To implement Google search console integration with Joomla, first you need to make connection with Google.
Step 1: Update Channel Settings
Under the Options Tab, choose "Search Console" as one of the services.
Start Date: Select the start date for search console data. If left blank, start date will be 1 month earlier from today.
End Date: Select the end date for search condole data. If left blank, end date will be today date.
Step 2: Overview Report
From the Channels dashboard, click "View Channel" button. Then, click "Google Search Console" button.
You will see all the overview of the properties that are in your Google Search Console.
Site URL: Website or specific page for which statistics are displayed.
Permission Level: Your access rights to the Search Console property.
Clicks: Number of times users clicked your website link from Google Search results (organic search clicks).
Impressions: Number of times your website appeared in Google search results.
CTR (Click-Through Rate): Percentage of impressions that turned into clicks.
Position: This is the average ranking position in Google search results. It is an average, not a fixed rank as a page may rank differently for different searches.
Clicking on the site URL will take you to the Details page.
Step 3: Detailed Report
The detailed report provides information about particular website in your Search Console.
Overall Traffic
This is the summary of your organic search performance. It includes total clicks, total impressions, average CTR and average position.
Top Queries
These are the search terms people used on Google before clicking your site.
Top Pages
These are the pages on your website that get the most search traffic.
Top Countries
This shows where your search visitors are located geographically.
Devices
This shows the type of device people use to access your site from search results. For example: Mobile, Desktop or Tablet.
Search Appearance
This shows how your pages appear in Google Search results beyond normal links.
