Manage Your Facebook Pages from Joomla

You can manage your Facebook pages and automate posting content to your Facebook pages from Joomla website.

Step 1: Facebook Channel Connection

The first step is to create a channel of type Facebook and then establish connection to the Facebook.

If you are successfully connected, you will see the list of Facebook Pages (along with its Id) you manage under Channels > View Channel button for Facebook channel created in the first step.

Step 2: Facebook Pages

You need to add required permissions (or scopes) at Facebook. You can check the current scopes under the User Details.

How to Updates Scopes?

  • First, you need to customize Use cases
  • Then, add the scope in the configurations under "Facebook Login for Business"
  • Finally, reconnect to Facebook to update the scopes.

It is recommended to add following permissions or scopes:

1. business_management: It allows to read and write with the Business Manager API.

2. pages_show_list: It allows access the list of Pages a person manages.

3. pages_read_engagement: It allows to read content (posts, photos, videos, events) posted by the Page, read followers data and read metadata and other insights about the Page.

4. pages_manage_engagement: It allows to create, edit and delete comments posted on the Page.

5. pages_manage_posts: It allows to create, edit and delete Page posts.

6. pages_manage_metadata: It allows to subscribe and receive webhooks about activity on the Page, and to update settings on the Page.

7. pages_read_user_content: It allows to read user-generated content on the Page, such as posts, comments and ratings by users or other Pages, and to delete user comments on Page posts.

8. read_insights: It allows to read the Insights data for Pages, apps and web domains the person owns.

When you click on the title of Facebook page, you can see Feeds, Insights, and other Details.

Managing Facebook Posts

Under the Feeds tab, you can view and manage the posts on your Facebook page.

  • View All Posts
  • Create New Posts
  • Update Existing Post
  • Delete Existing Post

Automatic Posting from Joomla

First, you need to to enter the Page Id for which you want to enable Automatic posting. In the Options tab, enter the Id of the Facebook page, Save the channel.

Under the Content tab, you can configure what to post on the Facebook page.
