According to your documentation I should be able to select the number of columns in the card layout but all that I can see is column class, and renders 4 columns + 2 below when showing 6 articles. When displaying 9 articles it renders 4 columns on the top row and five below. What am I missing please?

Column setting is under the Grid Tab. There are three options - Small Devices, Medium Devices, and Large Devices. You can enter number of columns for each device.
