How To Update Joomla When Not Showing Latest Version

A new version of Joomla is released that solves security problems or adds exciting new features. You login to your administrator panel only to find out that it is showing you already have the most recent version of Joomla.

Don't feel disappointed. A simple solution that works in the most of the cases is to purge the update cache. How to do this? Follow the steps:

1. Login to your Joomla administrator panel
2. On the top menu, go to Extensions -> Extensions Manager, and then click on update
3. You will now find option to Purge Cache (at top right menu)
4. Now, re-check the Joomla update. It should display the latest version of Joomla available.

Update it and enjoy your new and secure Joomla!
